Top 10: The most wanted PC games, Wii, PS3 and Xbox360
For almost 30 years now, since the first video games were launched, those evolved greatly, resulting new possibilities for user interaction, an exponentially improved graphics, and also the storage space increased in direct proportion too.

If it is about making a top of the best selling games of any type or platform, Nintendo will remain the best, same as classic games such as Super Mario Bros (40.23 million copies sold) and Tetris (35 million), and so on.

Customers do not necessarily look at the graphics power, processing power of a console or of some Pc. The vast majority of the gamers have and will always want to relax and just have fun in a game, and Nintendo realized this thing and the reward is that it sold so far, worldwide, 3.2 billion of  copies. We can not ignore the thing that there are also Pc games like The Sims /2 /3 with 32 million of copies sold, World of Warcraft / WOW The burning Crusade / WOW Wrath of the Lich King with 19 million of copies sold, StarCraft – 11 million, all versions of Half-Life – 17.5 million, Counter Strike – 4.9 million, Myst – 6 million, Guild Wars – 6 million (includes Guild Wars: Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North), Cossacks European Wars – 4 million, etc, but even so computer games seems that it have lost some ground to consoles. Among the known companies that continue to invest in Pc gaming segment includes: Blizzard, Electronic Arts, Valve.

Games To Play On Computer

Published by , on Apr 29 2010, in the categories: Computer games

It is pretty hard for a producer to assume his responsibility to continue every year with a series of games, and each year to bring a new version. People do not want to see the same thing each year, neither to see big deviations from the original formula. So Electronic Arts deserves the praise for the new edition of the Need for Speed series, Pro Street.

Unlike the last two versions, which were running the story of an illegal racing pilot, using interesting videos and scenes, Pro Street is running the story about the career of a legal racing pilot, Ryan Cooper. The game is also using scenes and videos in order to keep the story running which is about Ryan being injured by a great pilot. So you will have to go through different events, championships, racing series, to challenge the best of the best, and eventually to challenge Ryo, the one who injured you right after the first race.

Thanks to the big number of races you will have to win, it will take some time until you can race against Ryo. Each racing day consists into a set of different events. Most of the races are known, for those who have played the last versions of Need for Speed. Grip races are standard races with 8 opponents, and you will have to end the race on the first place in order to win. There are also races in which you will compete against time meaning that you will have to beat the best time or speed at a checkpoint. Also drift races are included in the game, and you will also find yourself into many drag races along the game.

Through the cars you will have to unlock in the final part are listed Lamborghini or Zonda, which are extremely fast, in the first 50 races you will have to drive less powerful cars, in order to evolve to more powerful ones. You will feel the lack of shortcuts since you are driving into legal races with standard circuits. Many of the circuits create sometimes the feeling of similarity, but this is available only for the way the cars are behaving on them, because every time there are new curves and different routes. The most important fact is that there are no police cars. Being chased by the police cars was playing an important role in the last two versions, but now everything is ok, it is all about legal racing, so you won’t get bothered by them. In this version, damage is playing a very important role; you will have to repair your car in case you damage it.

Even if one of the objectives is to win each racing day, this is not the only one. In the same time, you will have to dominate as many races as possible in order to unlock new sets of events. After each race you will win points depending on how fast you won the race, on which place you finished it or how damaged is the car. If the total score is better than the previous record, than you can say that you were dominating. In this moment you will get a prize consisting in car parts or money. The difficulty consists in the fact that you can bring for the races only a limited number of cars, so if the car you have can’t face the performance of an opponent car, you are in trouble. But it’s not over yet, as in other Need for Speed versions, you can buy new cars and also modify them.

Computer Games Need To Be Banned

Published by , on Apr 24 2010, in the categories: Computer games

This title of article sounded odd. And I realize it probably came from a person who experienced something ugly because of the computer games. Or it’s a mother who’s son won’t get out of his room. Or maybe from a mad girlfriend. Anyway, this is not a joke. Yes, computer games should be banned, for those who don’t know when to stop. And for children because they can’t judge correctly.

It depends on the education and on the personality of a person if computer games make a person loose it’s achievements. I always taught that a person can be changed. And computer games change people. It’s true. They make you isolate yourself, make you believe that the virtual world would offer you more that real life. Well, this never happens. Even if computer is your best friend, he can’t help you in many situations.

Computer games should not be banned, just restricted. No playing at work, just one hour computer contact for children, controlled access for teenagers. It sounds maybe difficult, but if every parent realizes this can be a solution, than it’s possible.

A bigger problem appears when even the father is computer games addicted. Yes, for him computer games should be banned. Because he should learn his children the most important things about responsibility. And about priorities. What would a child do when he sees his father playing? Simply imitate the behavior. And he would not consider it bad a bad thing. And for a bigger person, this is a little more dangerous, because he has a lot more to loose.

What kind of life would have a 8 year child if his day would develop in front of the computer? Would he know how to react or how to behave when meeting other people? Would he be responsible and act properly? Would the monsters that he kills make him aggressive?

Unfortunately there are many irresponsible parents, that simply forget that a child should live, not play all day long. Studies say that no matter how long we spend on playing computer games, we will not become more intelligent, even if it’s about intelligence games or any other tempting games.

With this technology, and this evolution, when even small children know how to download or play online, banning computer games will not be possible. It’s not about law, it’s about people. People should understand the meaning of the world “limit”. It’s for our own good and for a normal life. I could grow very well without a computer. That’s why I don’t spend to much time on playing right now eighter.

Computer games are good only if we still can make the difference between real and virtual world and if they don’t steal our whole free time. It’s like when speaking of sweets. Too much is never healthy.

Facebook Games On Windows Mobile

Published by , on Apr 24 2010, in the categories: For mobiles

Socializing is part of our lives, we like to meet new people, to make friends, to comment and make fun of each other, to share pictures, links, music, games. It’s great because with this technology, this is not hard to get. Young generation is the segment of public that accepts changes really quickly, and more than that, adopt all kind of new stuff.

There are many socializing sites, each of them trying to offer what’s best for people, trying to keep them together. Many people use this sites to know people, but there are also people that want something more. They like to play. Sites like this have many applications (quizzes, games, tests) and there are for sure funny and challenging.

The games present of this kind of sites make you play with you friends, all in a “public virtual space”. There’s no need for you to build a personal network and gather your friends, all you need is an internet connection and an account on socializing sites.

Facebook is for sure one of the most popular sites, where you can meet people from everywhere and know them better by chatting. The games present on this site are really funny, and all pf my friends find it great to play like this. The most important in my opinion is “Farmville”. Everyone wants to have the best farm, the most beautiful animals…and friends can help you. They can give you some corn, for example, if you ran out of it. Or they can feed your dog.

There are also many other games, for all requests. Treasure Island, Sorority Life, Happy Aquarium, Social City, Café World…where you can beat your friends with imagination and points.

Some cell phone networks offer people the possibility to have internet on their mobile phone. To be able to check their mail or chat from everywhere they are. But wait….you’ll be able to connect anytime, so you can control your farm and beat your friends.

Is this a danger of addiction? You are at one click away from you favorite site. You can control you actions, and you will not be forced to wait until you get home to see what your friends recently posted or if someone made a comment about your profile.

I saw friends sad because their farm didn’t work, or because they forgot to fertilize their plantation or too feed their cat. Are this things moving into a virtual world? How many of them really saw a farm or had the opportunity to see that a dog can’t be fed with a click? I think all this game mania, Facebook mania and cell phone games are overreacted, we should wake up and see world is not that friendly!

Addicting Mobile Games

Published by , on Apr 24 2010, in the categories: For mobiles

Like any other games, mobile games can be addicting. You just can not leave you cell phone until you win or you are just used to play all day long.

Yes, it is fun and sometimes relaxing, but no matter how long we play and how much time we waste, there’s a small chance to loose some reality activities.

If you prefer playing during breaks, it’s ok, but unless you forget to eat. It’s recommended that during the break we move our body, it’s healthy to even do some easy sport exercises to stretch. Our muscles would be very happy. It’s recommended also to get outside, to breathe some fresh air. But instead, even at school, children prefer staying in classrooms and …play mobile games. They even try to beat their friends, managing to obtain the best score.

I know that when you start playing one game, it’s hard to play just one. It tempts you to keep playing, over and over again. If you know when to stop, it might be well for you real life. But if you don’t. you’ll be just lost in a virtual world. The cell phone was invented to be helpful, to connect people, to make them keep long relationships, and we all know how life without cell phone would be right now. But I really think that cell phones should be used to spend time when there’s no other way of spending it. I will always prefer walking instead of playing mobile games.

I saw one ugly situation. I was out with my friends, and one of them bought his girlfriend. She was too shy to talk to us, and barely said hello. Sitting by the table, while we were laughing and talking, she kept her head own. I really taught she is very, very shy…But she was playing on her mobile. How addicting can this games be? I can not understand why someone would choose to isolate instead of making a conversation. This was rude and disrespectful.

I think this is just the beginning of the era of mobile games. Because of the evolution of the cell phones, games can’t just remain the same. Games must change too, and with the possibility of downloading any sort of games for free from the internet, I don’t think mobile games will stop here. They will become more addicting, just like computer games.

What’s really important right now is saving children from this temptation, because they don’t know their limits. An for children, everything new represents something interesting. But everything new can e dangerous too. We should take care how we spend our free time. It should please us, not make us “go with the flow”.

Educational Computer Games

Published by , on Apr 23 2010, in the categories: For kids

Educational computer games, as suggested by the name, are a fun way of developing personality and knowledge, they facilitate learning. They are used mostly with little kids because of this characteristic, as their favorite time passing activity is having fun, playing. Continuing this thought we all know that it is easier to learn something that we are interested in, rather than something that we do not care about or even bores us.

This is where the games come in. When someone begins to play a game he or she is interested in that game, so if that specific game includes some new, useful information then that specific information sticks with us, we know it from then. As a result educational computer games are created especially for children, in a way that these games help them in their development, in their education.  ABCya! for example is a developer of educational computer games for elementary students. While playing these kinds of games children can also learn basic computer usage, besides math or reading which is also essential.

Educational computer games include in most cases funny word games or jigsaw puzzle games. These can expand the children’s vocabulary and motivate them to learn more, because, obviously, the more you know the more likely is that you win or at least you do not get to be the last one. And as the grownups, they also like to win and they also have a competitive spirit, or if they do not have a competitive spirit then playing can help them develop one. Another useful property of the games is that while playing the little ones learn to obey the rules, to play by the rules. So games have an important social role, where it is also necessary to obey the rules.

However these games are not the only ones which can teach us something. I mean every computer game has an educational side, even the shooter games. These games have a story, which are based, inspired mostly from real life moments. As Call of Duty where the action takes place during the Second World War or Far Cry which takes place in Africa and can remind us to the movie “Blood Diamond” where the most diamonds are coming from.

Another form of education in a computer game is when an item is called “Excalibur” as King Arthur’s sword given by the Lady from the Lake. Maybe while playing the gamer becomes interested in that specific sword decides to find out what that is. Reading the text about Excalibur he or she will learn not only about the sword but also about King Arthur the Round Table, the knights and so on.  As we can see every computer game can be able to teach us, to educate us because of its unique way of captivating our interest.

1990′s Computer Games

Published by , on Apr 22 2010, in the categories: Historical data, History

We all know that computer games were not always as great as today, because even computers could not support any great graphics. With this evolution, especially games changed a lot and they continue changing daily. New stuff make us always want to keep on trying.

The best game of all times was voted Super Mario, and was launched in 1985. Now isn’t that great? There were three series, the second one was released in 1988 and the third one in 1990. So, Mario belongs to the 90’s too. I am sure we all know those images when Mario was jumping over poisoned mushrooms and roaches to save the Peach Princess. Boy, we were so glad when we found the Princess…

The second place belongs to Pac-Man (launched in 1980) and the third place belongs to the well known Tetris ( I still like to play Tetris and I’m sure I’m not the only one)

Sim City was another revolution (1993), the same as Wolfenstein (1992), and the one I remember about because my brother was still playing it 2 years ago, Mortal Kombat (1992).

Warcraft is a legend even now, there are public competitions going on (with newer versions), but is still a powerful game with many fans (released in 1994).

I observe that there was this tendence to just create an unusual world, a dream world to play in, people were attracted by all kind of monsters and creatures, they liked to fight and conquer, to destroy and build, to make war, not peace. But till the invention of Counter Strike (2000) people should be pleased with primitive heroes and science fiction scenario and worlds.

The 1990’s became the golden age of computer games and gave birth to a large number of games developers. We might find it funny right now to play a game from 1990’s, because we were used to different graphics, bigger speed, more real characters, more unusual situations. But at that time people were satisfied with what they could get, and the computer itself was a great invention to be part of their lives. There were few people who had their own computer at home, there were several places in town where we could play computer games and we were paying some money per hour…What lovely times, nowadays this sounds strange, because we each have our own computer (even laptops).

As a child, I was so happy to play Bomberman and Supaplex, and I got nervous every time a bomb exploded and I died.

Uff, I start wondering if evolution is a good thing, because we seem to forget the most wonderful memories from our childhood…But if we still talk about this 1990’s computer games it’s a good sign, isn’t it?

Internet Gaming Sites

Published by , on Apr 22 2010, in the categories: Internet

We are all crazy about games. All sorts of games. In lunch breaks at work or at school we choose to play and have fun.

This is a good activity for our brain and body. Bud most of the people choose computer games. It’s simple, we don’t even need to get up from our chair. We just sit and enjoy.

<>/center
The best part about computer games is the fact that we can play online, no need to download the games, so the boss won’t be mad because we play computer games at job. He won’t even know. Even if he knows, he’ll be pleased we don’t attempt to the computer’s memory. This is a really big advantage. Playing without downloading is good, any time you want to play you just log in into a site and start playing. And I am sure everybody has their favorite game, but on this kind of sites there might be any kind of temptations. We can play different games every time, because there are many possibilities.

You can play almost everything. Pool, chess, cards, backgammon, puzzles, crosswords, volleyball, football, tennis, sudoku, and, of course, strategy games. A large list to choose from.

The funniest ant the most interesting part is that in this strategy games we can be whoever we want to. We can kill, nobody will punish us. We can die, without getting hurt. We can sing, without anyone wondering why we have such annoying voice. We can play guitar, ever if in reality we don’t even know how to hold a guitar. We are able to dress models up, like a real designer. We can be heroes, we can save princesses, we can save the world, raise children, build the most amazing buildings, drink a coffee with Hannah Montana…and even more amazing stuff. This is the advantage of the internet world.

It’s funny how we get happy whenever we win one of this games, we fell so powerful, even if it’s only a victory for the virtual world. We just feel that we are able to do at least something right and we are pleased with this feeling.

This internet gaming sites are like a solution for us, to get into a world of possibilities. But I still think it’s dangerous for us, if we try to concentrate only on this virtual world. I find an evening spent with my friend’s way more interesting, and if we play together, it’s even better. I use internet gaming sites especially in evenings when everybody is too busy, and I agree it’s entertaining and fun, but I never choose to play online if I have the opportunity to go outside to meet the real world. Monsters can wait after all.

Kids Spiderman Puzzle Games

Published by , on Apr 21 2010, in the categories: Puzzle

Puzzle games are fun and challenging. Even for grown up people, what’s there to say when it comes to children?

Every parent wants to keep his child busy and entertained, and cartoons or games can do this successfully. When a combination of this two modalities is possible, than the child would certainly consider this is an important thing that deserves attention.

Cartoon heroes are for every child important, they live like one, buy any sort of objects with the beloved hero. I am simply attacked by this whole world of Hannah Montana and Spiderman. Their images are everywhere, on pencils, notebooks, bags, hats, cereals, chewing gums, blouses, trousers, shirts, socks…everywhere! And what’s more funny is that parents keep on buying for their children, because they seem not to get enough! Whenever something new appears, there’s some kind of war in managing to get those products first!

Let’s guess….how important would be for a child to actually have a puzzle with his preferred hero? He will certainly be more than interested in solving it. He will be so curious to see the final image that he would barely want to eat. But unfortunately this will happen the first time he solves the puzzle, the second time too…but that’s it. He will not be interested in solving it too many times, because he will get bored. If the child is smaller and the parent solves it for him, to wake some interest from the child, the child could not want to break it, and so the puzzle will stay solved under the protective look of the child.

Spiderman puzzle games are preferred, of course, by little boys, that actually act like Spiderman! Still, puzzle games keep the child’s mind busy and trained.

There are computer puzzle games, that the children prefer. They like feeling they have control over things…and solving a puzzle will make them feel this way. Spiderman puzzle games (live or on the computer) are more fun than those that offer any other image, even though a beautiful house might be interesting for us, for children this would be nothing that deserves attention.

For very small children there are puzzles made from wood, to be more resistive, and the image is very simple. There are made more for something like an exercise for the child, to make him think how to combine the pieces and develop certain abilities of matching different objects.

We all like to surround ourselves with our favorite music, color, star or hero. So, why would the child be different? When I was little there was no Spiderman, there was Action man. And no Hannah Montana, but Sailor Moon. And I never had any kind of puzzles, no chance to have a personalized puzzle. But it’s good for children nowadays that they are given the possibility to choose to know what they like!
