The orc tents hold dominion in Tribes of the East, a great expansion pack which is expected to bring the last finishes to the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise. If not, at least, because although this new add-on has a new content, none of the elements is special in particular. The hardcore fans of the series will probably enjoy taking a look over the new appearance of the fortress, as they will enjoy throwing themselves into the missions offered by the three new solo campaigns, but some will stand aside and wait for Nival Interactive and Ubisoft to start the project Heroes VI.

For the beginners, Heroes of Might and Magic V is a continuation of the fantastical theme in which everyone waits for his turn in moving in this series of strategy games. The ones which will choose the game will find a solid and diversified series of new maps and enough twists which will make the game something fresh and new.

Here is what it is catchy to the players: the new fortress (Stronghold), which contains different types of orcs, from pedestrian warriors to shamans, and also other types of humanoids like goblins, centaurs and cyclops.

The appearances are pretty familiar, the Grunt units not having such angelic personalities, but neither demonic (these guys are wearing gray hats / helmets). The other creatures are also the same. For example, the new unit – the cyclops, is behaving like a Sylvan tree, and the orc recruits are the equivalent of the creatures from the Dungeon castles.

The story of the game is spinning more or less around the same intrigue. The three campaigns continue the previous expansion called Hammers of Fate. It begins by leading an orc rebellion having the new type of fortress (Stronghold) into a single mission, and then you skip to the Necropolis castle, then to the Academy, and in the end, you return to orcs. There can be seen many influences from the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic game, especially the Necropolis castle, where it is resurrected the great negative character of this game, Arantir the necromancer. Fortunately, no skills from Dark Messiah game are required in order to understand what is going on in Heroes Tribes of the East.

Although you must be really good at Heroes 5, each of the 16 maps which appear in the 3 campaigns is remarkably difficult. Any challenge is hard to meet from the beginning, and you will have to recourse to many repeats and returns in order to meet them. Slowly advancing through maps and fighting the monster groups which are defending the regular treasures and artifacts you notice that it is getting harder and harder because it seems that there are not enough volunteers to join your army, and the resources which are necessary to train them are not enough. You really can not destroy units in neither of the maps from the first moves, this thing being possible only after some time spent on strengthening the army and its power. So get ready for many tries and a lot of restarting of the game from the previous saved moment.

Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess

It’s hard to throw yourself into a MMORPG as great as Final Fantasy XI, a game which is on the market for a while, just to take a look to the newest expansion pack. But if you have to take it from scratch, than you really need to play Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess. Wings of the Goddess is an expansion pack which brings new elements to a game which can be played by players from multiple platforms Xbox 360, PC and PS2. In order to play it on the Xbox 360 you will need an USB keyboard. Or it will be hard for you when it comes to battles.

When talking about graphics, this title is not disappointing us. The world named Vava’diel is wonderful and various, from the frozen North to the deserts from South, all these on some small spots of dry land. You will enjoy urban landscapes and dungeons, and all you could imagine besides these. The faces and bodies of the characters are moving very realistic, all catching a very alive contour. But you will be really amazed by the special effects and the spells you can unchain in this game.

The soundtrack fits the epic adventure met here and will never bore your. Generally speaking, the sounds are reaching the actual standards, so that every step of yours will be accompanied by a song to fit it.

Like many other expansion packs, the standard game play is not too modified. But are added some new quests and monsters, so the experience is as fresh as before.

Because it is an MMO, you will go into a world which you will share with other hundred of other players, into a game which is on the internet for about 5 years, on different platforms, so you can always be intimidated by such news.

Gothic II

Gothic II is an RPG which continues the adventure in which a lonely hero must fight bandits, monsters and dragons into a great 3D world, in which you must specialize on one of the three paths and in the end to be able to fight back to the orcs and dragons sent before the death of the demon you defeated in Gothic.

The story from Gothic II like the location in which it takes place, has a medieval air full of fantasy elements. Your character can be equipped with swords, axes and crossbows, but it can also unchain fire balls and healing spells, but, like in the previous version of the game, you start as a regular man, with no hope of being a feared warrior. Each mission puts you face to face with feared enemies, and like in Gothic you will never know how powerful are these, so you will have to keep trying to stay alive until you manage to defeat some enemies.

Gothic II is a game with a long story, with an open ending to each possibility, surprisingly well realized and which is offering a lot of objectives which you can meet as you wish.

1952 Father Of Computer Games

Published by , on May 08 2010, in the categories: Computer games

Alexander Sandy Douglas was born on 21st May, year 1921 in the capital city of England, London. When he was eight his family moved to Cromwell Road.

He attended the University of Cambridge in 1950 place where he received the chance to prove himself in the field of computers by programming the code for a simple game where a player could compete against a computer.

He invented the first computer game, a version of tic-tac-toe. In 1952, after A.S. Douglas wrote his PhD degree at the University  of Cambridge on Human-Computer interaction he needed a way to prove his theories, and so he created the first graphical computer game- which was a version of tic-tac-toe, programmed on a EDSAC vacuum-tube computer. He used a model that appeared in 1947. The game was very simple, all that the player needed to do was to play against the computer and the image would appear on the 13*16 pixels vacuum-tube. This game was called Oxo and also Noughts and Crosses, and unfortunately didn’t become very famous because it could only be played because EDSAC was a computer only used in England.

In1953 Douglas spent a year at the University of Illinois Computation laboratory as assistant Professor. In 1955 he became Junior Bursar Of Trinity College. In the autumn of 1957 the Leeds Pegasus computer was installed in the Eldon Chapel on Woodhouse Lane where Douglas set up the Computer Laboratory of the University of Leeds.

Alexander Sandy Douglas is believed to be the father of modern computer games. If it weren’t for him would we still have our computer games nowadays? Can any of you imagine a life without computers or computer games? Of course, many of you could say that there have been times when people lived just fine without technology, and that is very true, but I believe these times are better and easier than those. And besides, computer games are fun.

The story of A.S.Douglas’ life is a story of a man who had the courage to look forward in the future and to try to do something else, something different. As every invention in this world, the existence of the first computer game can also mean the beginning of a very big and important technology field nowadays. These kinds of men are men whom we should admire. This kind of men are men who make us ask ourselves whether we should also do something for this world or not.

The computer games field has increased drastically lately, and the reason is because technology itself evolves very fast, and computer games evolve even faster.

Although we don’t actually know much about this A.S.Douglas, what is clear about him is that he and his Noughts and Crosses game helped improve a lot the technological field and that he can actually be considered the father of the computer games field.

Game’s production started about a year ago, when Linkin Park signed a partnership with Artificial Life Inc. to create an application to please their fans but also to please the gamers. The game will be available on multiplayer mode. The band was directly involved in the most important aspects of the game: story, game play, music and design.

“It was a unique experience for us.” Said Eberhard Shoneburg, CEO for Artificial Life.

“We believe that we entered a new area of games, 8-Rebellion will get the band closer than ever, to our fans. I think that any Linkin Park fan should try this game.”

It seems to be an interesting game but until we will play it, we make an idea from its trailer.

Apparently it does not happen to hear only about releases games but also about the withdrawal of some others that are at least strange and harmful. For example, a mobile game for iPhone, whose final goal was to see how much you can take when a child cries until you shake him and even kill him, was seized from AppStore dues to harsh criticism. The mobile game “Baby Shaker” was sold in Appstore at a price of 99 cents. The image of a child was black and white drafted on the phone’s screen, and the user had the possibility to stop the annoying cries with a strong shake of the phone.

“In the plane, bus, and cinema – children are everywhere, in places where you do not want them to be! They always distract your attention when you are preparing for a presentation for work, because they always cry. Before “Baby Shaker”, you could not do anything to stop them. See how much you can take their cries until you find a way to stop them” – says the game description on iTunes.

When the user shook the phone, the child ceased to cry and this way, on his eyes was supposed to appear small red symbols in the form of X. A group that was focused on the prevention of child abuse from New York requested that the game to be withdrawn from the market, based on the known fact that the shaking of a child it leaves permanent traces on their brain.

Sikalosoft Company, the one that produced this game, did not make any comments regarding to Baby Shaker game but it was deleted from their website.

    Computer Action Games

    Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5, the last from this long series is extending through action, being built from the beginning in order to support the cooperation game. Although this can not be called a survival horror anymore, Resident Evil 5 manages to keep in an efficient way the most important aspect, the tension, which is exactly what will keep you always strained, the fun being at maximum.

After 10 years from destroying Racoon City, the ex member of the S.T.A.R.S. team, Chris Redfield is a B.S.A.A. agent. This anti biological weapons paramilitary organization travels around the world to destroy the Umbrella creations, which have ended up in the hands of the terrorists after the crash of the multinational pharmaceutical company. Chris receives information that a well known weapons dealer will make a great business in the far nation from Africa, Kijuju. Once there, he tries to learn what he can from the Doomsday Project, also known as Uroboros. Along with Sheva Alomar, a local B.S.A.A. agent, fights with the infected villagers and horrible mutant monsters.

The fighting mechanics has changed because in Resident Evil 4 the action takes place from the shoulder’s level. Resident Evil 5 is a little slow in movements and the shooting taking some time, and the combination “run and shoot” being a little slower and not on everybody’s taste. Fortunately these small problems from the game will be forgotten because the enemies with their attacks will not let the weapon to cool down.

Adding the second character makes Resident Evil 5 to be different from its predecessor. The teamwork is necessary in order to take down powerful opponents and their boss; also you will have to take care of yourself in order to keep yourself alive along the game. More in the browsing system has not been changed. An ably company, Sheva is extremely good for example when she uses a gun but tends to lose the battle when she is equipped with a pistol. She said that she feels like an extra baggage which needs some taking care of. Sheva truly shines when someone controls her. Resident Evil 5 supports also split screen and co play op online, through Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, and exploring Kijuju with a very good friend, enhances the experience and the game’s fun.

Resident Evil 5is not a survival horror, but this does not mean that it didn’t use some things from this genre. The tension is the main element of this game’s genre and it is transmitted through the grim settings, feelings of isolation like angles of the camera and controls.

When having a partner, there are new types of tension, because you become forced to rely on mutual support, to find ways to browse the stock while in battle, to cover wide areas and enemies can appear from almost anywhere. Enemy waves which will come with a very good chosen frequency but in a more lightly environment which will make it a little less scary, but probably you will have some problems facing them because they come in high numbers, are more intelligent, faster and more powerful than their counterparts from the previous versions. The fights with the boss must be made in an excellent rhythm because you will never know what to expect when going round the corner, so you must be alert also.

    Casino Gaming

Do you actually play Casino games? Are you okay?

How can you do that! They eat all your money!

First of all, I can’t say that it’s a huge thing trying it once or twice, but as far as you play more you are addicted. Even if you win you just keep on playing the money till you are drunk and loose everything. Why that? Because when you get addicted you can’t think straight. Your brain is all rubbished in those moments as a greed person, you can’t just stop until you have the whole world in your hands, which will never happen playing games, only by struggling in doing something with your own brain or hands given to you by divinity.

I’ve had a mate whose boyfriend was just playing whenever they had a fight. After 2 years of relationship their fights were more and more often and every night they had to argue for every little thing or sometimes on nothing. She just hated him going to casino games, but it’s not like she has anything to do about it. He became addicted. Anytime he took his monthly payment he was in the casino playing them and of course loosing everything because when even doubling your first played money you just can’t stop. He didn’t even have money to buy himself food, he even gave up smoking. Can you believe that? Not to talk about buying his girlfriend something because he couldn’t even keep himself alive. Luckily he had an older brother who happened to be a little more carrying.

But this wasn’t enough. He came in such a situation that he could barely walk, got so thin but he was lucky until his last moment because his girlfriend did not leave him. He just left her. He was found dead one day into the bathroom.

Would you like having such an end? You may say that you are strong and you aren’t going to have such an end because you’re not really addicted. Trust me, there are such hard moments in life when something strikes you and in order to forget everything you will go play your money and I could say also your brain.

My advice would be to keep far from playing casino games. If you really can’t or you are attracted by friends or you just want to make an impression, show how strong you are or who knows what else, I would strongly suggest that you take the money if you win first time because there are really really low chances that you won again and again.

One more thing, if your trying to impress somebody, showing how strong you are , playing casino games isn’t the best idea.

Why won’t you just do something that trains your brain, your muscles and also improves your health? You will see results by yourself.

    Sudoku Puzzle Games Online

Published by , on May 07 2010, in the categories: Puzzle

    What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is a game played with numbers which you have to fill into little boxes in such way that in the given square you need to have numbers between 1 to 9 without repeating them.

Also, you can’t have the same number in a row either right side or down, up side. This may seem a little bit complicated but trust me, it isn’t at all.

I was 13 when I received my first Sudoku Notebook with 100 puzzles, one puzzle each page. Firstly I didn’t know and care, I just threw it between my messy stuff. Then, one day my parents left me home alone playing on my computer. Suddenly, the power ran off and adios my beloved computer games. Crying and getting really angry about that, I started to arrange the things in my room, putting my clothes in my washing machine, arranging books. That’s when I discovered my Sudoku notebook. Having nothing else to do, I opened it and there it all started.

It had three levels: easy, normal and hard. Trust me, I couldn’t stop filling in, erasing and then again filling in. Just couldn’t stop. I needed almost 2 weeks to finish my first Sudoku Notebook. Then for the next few months I’ve signed up to receive the local newspaper every Saturday which had a little notebook with 7 puzzles, one for each day of the week.

But, as fast as I got excited it was all blown away by the closing of my favorite newspaper’s activity.

There have been a few years since then and I’ve started to forget about it, being busy growing older having a teenager life. But guess what?

Checking my mail one day, I’ve just seen an email from a certain site, can’t remember surely its name. It was advertising for a mini clip game called Sudoku Puzzle Game. Entering there I had a little disappointment that I couldn’t play online because I wasn’t the right person to deal with computer tricks but I’ve found there a link from where I could download Sudoku Puzzle game to my cell phone. Since then this is my favorite thing to waste my time with. I have to add that it really helps in developing your mathematical and logical thinking skills and it really helps if you start at an early age.

Just put a paper with a Sudoku puzzle game and a pencil in your son or daughter’s hand and you may be surprised how it can captivate their attention. It’s just like showing a shoe to a baby. He wouldn’t know what to do with it. He might have the first impulse to put it in his mouth or over his head making you laugh, just like babies.

This is exactly the way of a child, teenager or adult acting when facing a Sudoku game. Firstly they wouldn’t know what to do, but when trying and starting to write, it all flows by itself.

I would really suggest it to every one of you out there. Just search for it! I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Best Computer Games For 7 Year Olds

Published by , on May 07 2010, in the categories: Computer games

Lately, computer games have become not only the leisure in most inactive moments of children, but much often an obsession. This is due to the fact that parents are not concerned with the impact of games over children, especially those that may have barriers in making friends. These ones are most likely to become addicted and separating them from what makes them themselves might have a huge negative impact over their brain’s health.

Firstly, obesity has become an important issue concerning children under 15 and playing constantly on computer is the main factor that leads to obesity in the case of children. They are not only just playing and eating but they are sitting down all day and we know that exercising during their growing period is really important.

Also, as they become addicted to computer games, they spend most of their time indoors, wasting activities normal for a little child, playing around all day making friends. This might lead these children into becoming lonesome. In time, this might be a factor that he or she might regret because he might not fit into society being hard to create himself /herself a social or intimate space.

There are few steps to follow if you are a parent and you are concerned with your child’s behavior.

First of all, do not make the mistake of forbidding him to use a computer or to play on it! This is non-sense and if he is not in an early stage you might destroy important parts from a parent-child relationship. Just be yourself and try to involve brain activity with social interactivity into the main thing that any child enjoys. PLAYING! How can you do that? Well, specialists have created Hi5 Games, a sort of mini clips where you can train your brain to think and act logical. Also, there are certain boxes for chatting with friends, whom you can even challenge to beat your best score or with whom you can actually play online.

Secondly, don’t think that if you found your child a healthy occupation you are done with it. NO! Do not let you child unsupervised all the time because you might have surprises later. There are so many violent games that sooner or later you might ask yourself why is my child so aggressive? Don’t forget that children have the tendency to imitate everything they see. Just make sure that you or a grown up is checking him from time to time.

Also, don’t forget to mix necessary with pleasure, in such a way that your child-parent relationship wouldn’t be affected and will even improve if necessary. I would suggest that you tried mixing computer games with body exercising, signing up you child to a karate or swimming class.

Coming back to our computer gaming issue, there is a Hi5 game that you really enjoy and I would totally recommend to everyone no matter the age. It is called Cub Crash and there you have to mix certain cubes, three in number, same color, in a certain position so that you get more and more points. By playing it you might learn a few tricks concerning math techniques which you may be surprised how useful they would be in your child’s activity.

Finally, it is only up to you to save new generations from getting addicted to computer games and this only by carrying and mixing necessary with pleasure.

    Computer Rpg Games

Published by , on May 06 2010, in the categories: Computer games

    Dungeon Siege 2

When Dungeon Siege first appeared at the beginning of the year 2002, it was a very appreciated game thanks to the impressive graphic effects and the accessible fighting system and with a very alert rhythm. Yet, for an RPG (Role Playing Game) genre, it had some lacks in terms of character improvement and unfolding the adventurer’s story. So, the producer from Gas Powered Games has learned from mistakes, he listened to the critics and to the players feedback, the result being Dungeon Siege 2, a game which managed to impose in front of the RPGs at that time, to offer more difficult battles, a longer adventure rich in epic items, certainly thanking all the hardcore players of this genre.

Dungeon Siege 2 is like other RPGs, the major difference consisting in the fact that instead of only one character, you control a team of 6 fighters. Don’t get too enthusiastic, it takes pretty much to gather all 6. At the beginning you can create a team of only 2 characters, with the possibility to buy additional slots from the innkeepers inside the game, but the first time you will finish the game, you will have a maximum of 4 characters under control. Only when you finish the game three times, you will have the possibility to recruit a team of 6 characters. It is pretty difficult, considering that the story lasts between 40 and 60 hours. The characters you can recruit are not so many, but you can take instead of a character, a pet, meaning animals or elements which are managing the same when starting a real massacre. A pet can consume items in order to grow up and increase in power, so the players can transform them into recycle bins for the items which are no longer useful.

Once you have formed the team, you are ready for battle. You can control directly only one character, but you can give orders for the whole team by a touch of a button. So, by pressing the F key, the team behaves as a mirror of the character you control in that moment, imitating all its moves. Or you can set them on frenzy mode, which tells them to kill everything moving around them. With F2 you control the wizard in order to benefit from a health spell, and with F3 you can take control of the fighter in order to crack some enemy skulls open. You can also set the spells on auto, which is very useful, because you no longer have to do them manual every time. The artificial intelligence can be set to manage itself, if you want to, and you only have to show them the direction in which to go.

Unlike the first appearance of the game, in Dungeon Siege 2 you have the possibility to personally manage the character’s evolution, so you can distribute the skill points as you want in order to make specialized fighters out of simple characters. The four classes available are: ranger, fighter, sorcerer and naturalist magician.
