Unreal Tournament 3
When you will get to play it, you will notice that the elements which you loved so much at Unreal Tournament 2004 were not changed too much. The game remained the same, a shooter oriented on action and fast moves. The new maps of the game, the improved graphics and game play which are not hard to understand make Unreal Tournament 3 a beautiful game. The way the shooter genre has changed along the last three – four years, from the last edition of the game, is also a very important factor. Most of the games slow down the things, and are oriented on a more realistic rhythm, but the fast game play from Unreal tournament 3 is sensed like a refresh of the genre.
Unreal Tournament 3 does not reinvent the Unreal Tournament style, but considering the way the shooters have changed from the previous launched version, the actual edition manages to look very fresh and surprisingly attractive.
The Unreal Tournament games were never oriented on single player action, but like in the previous versions, there is a campaign mode in Unreal Tournament 3 – a series of battles against some bots around a story with not too many events. You will play the role of a character seeking for revenge after an evil woman called Necris who has lead an assault over some unarmed civilians from your colony. You and the survivors of the attack will join a corporation in order to fight and gain the lost lands of another corporation and so on. It is like a practice mode which lasts up to 7 hours which will introduce you to the rhythm and speed of the game, in order to have at least a small change when playing the multiplayer mode. A new element is the fact that you can play in online campaign mode, with up to 3 players.

Although you will join other people to fight against bots, this element is not the most entertaining one, and it is way easier than when you were playing against real persons. You can set the bot levels also. At the small level of difficulty, they are completely idiots and will not even look behind when you will shoot them from the back. At the highest level, the competition gets heavier, but not impossible, because it is pretty hard to fight against some opponents who rarely miss.
The maps you will meet in the single player campaign are the same you will meet in the online mode. Unreal Tournament 3 presents six different game modes. Deathmach is the standard battle, where everyone is on their own. Team Deathmatch splits the players in two teams. Duel is a 1 versus 1 mode, on the same supported maps by the deathmatch modes. Besides these, there is the capture the flag and warfare modes.

The maps are high quality and the weapons are probably familiar to the older players. The other changes in game play are minor. Unreal Tournament 3 uses the Unreal Engine 3 engine, the same on which was the base of Gears of War. So, this game looks and acts very well of the last generation machines.

I didn’t get the chance to play Unreal Tournament 3 but I did play Diablo 2 which is also a game that you can play online. The benefit of playing online games is that you can interact with all sorts of people and I actually made some good friends online. They can also help you during game play and this makes any game a lot more fun. Unreal Tournament 3 also sounds a lot of fun… for people who are interested in shooters (I am more of an RPG person). I recommend Diablo 2 to anyone that likes to play RPGs and I really cannot wait for Diablo 3 to be released on the market.
