The gaming industry has been a part of our lives ever since the 1970s and it has as well proved to be one of the best entertaining possibilities that one could have. Is at first gaming was mainly referring to the remote possibility of playing cards, then it developed the computer gaming, the online gaming, the casino gaming, the casino online gaming and so on. Therefore, with time, it soon became one of the most profitable industries.


Gaming had to be kept under control as it spread too much and too fast. Therefore, gaming conventions and gaming control boards were born, that had as a main responsibility to rest assured that the gaming industry was operating under legal actions and did not make any illegal things. The Major league gaming represents an American video game league that is responsible of holding the video games tournaments throughout the United States. It has its headquarters in the State of New York in the town of New York City and it exists since 2002. The CEO from the Major League Gaming is Matt Bromberg. It has contributed to the video gaming evolution ever since its appearance. It promotes gaming as a competitive social activity, which will enable the development t of the relationships between people. In 2009 it has the ownership of the Agora Games.

At the moment the MLG tournaments has attracted people from over twenty eight countries worldwide and it uses the TV media to popularize its tournaments. With its Pro Circuit live competitions, they bring together people all over the world that have the same hobbies. Since the year 2004 it held national championships such as Super Smash Bros Melee1v1, Halo: Combat Evolved held in 2004 in New York, in 2005 as well it held its national competition in New York City and it consisted in Super Smash Bros and Halo 2. In the following year it moved the location of its national competition in Las Vegas playing the same games as before. Until n2009 they maintained the same place for holding their game competitions, but added some other games as well, therefore in 2007 they added Gears of War, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Shadowrun; in 2008 it added Call of Duty 4. Last year, the MLG decided to hold their competition in Orlando for the first time.

The 2010 Pro Circuit they promise the gamers “lovers” implies five such circuits that will eventually culminate in a National Championships.  This season there are prizes totaling over $400,000. The aim is to dethrone the actual MLG champion and become one yourself. The Circuit began in April on 16^th in Orlando and then it was continued in Columbus between 4^th and 6^th of July, and it is about to take place in around a month, in Raleigh, one the 27^th – 29^th of August. Then in early November it will move in Dallas and the finals will be announced both location and date and time, only in Dallas.

One can register for the Raleigh competition until the 27^th of July. The events that are to take place then are the Halo 3, the Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the Tekken 6. If you are not one of the gamers that will compete but you are a gamer, you can watch live competitions online. The broadcast starts from the beginning of the competition to its end and it is completely free. During the brakes of the matches, one must not worry about getting bored as the MLG has thought about everything, and it will offer you commentaries on gaming, pro guest commentaries, interviews and instant replays.

The MLG has created an industry in itself and it is worldwide known as far as the video gaming industry concerns.
