Gaming industry has developed a lot in the past years and it has become one of the biggest business in the world. That is because it has been highly regarded from the beginnings and it was granted the deserving potential. While making gaming one of the entertainment possibilities that one may have today, it is as well a thing of learning and of studying new things as well as implementing what you previously know.


What do gaming consoles refer to? They are actually a system that is used in order to perform actions on your PC. The term that one uses in order to characterize these is “video game console”, as it triggers the distinction between a machine that is solely designed to use it for playing just video games, from a personal computer, that comes with different many other features and even an arcade machines, which are made for businesses that need to buy them.

As the first ever video computer game appeared in the 1950s, the first video gaming consoles, appeared in the 1972. It was named the Magnavox Odyssey and it could be connected to a TV set. It then, came on the market, the Odyssey 100, the Odyssey 200, which could handle up to four players.

The second generation of gaming consoles was released by the Fairchild Company. They back then released the FairChild Video Entertainment System – VES. The year 1977 the video gaming consoles suffered a decrease and companies such as, Fairchild and RCA had to abandon their projects.

The home console industry was revived after Atari released in 1980 a conversion of the arcade Space Invaders. People bought this new game console especially for the game’s sake. After a long period of evolution, when a lot of new players on the market have started taking over, in 1983 the video gaming registered another crash.

Nintendo, is the one that came in the help of this industry, in 1984 releasing the Family Computer in Japan. They soon brought it as well in the United States and they provide it the name of Nintendo Entertainment System in the year of 1985. With the Super Mario Bros game, the Nintendo Company succeeded in reviving the gaming industry.

The fourth generation of gaming consoles was the Sega one. these were released in October 1988 but  they as well are able to be included in the fourth generation of the gaming consoles, gadgets such as NEC’s, TurboGrafx-16 and as well SNK Playmore’s Neo Geo.

The fifth generation began with the Atari Jaguar and the 3DC. They both used to be much molre powerful than the SNES. While this generation went on for some good years, tye next generation in line appeared, therefore, the sixth generation came on the market together with the DVDs that are used for game media storage. Some of these gaming consoles are Sega Dream cast, Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo Game Cube and as well the Microsoft Xbox from 2001. In 2005 the seventh generation of such gaming consoles appeared on the market and they were representative by  Microsoft Xbox 360, .

If anyone, may be interested in all the consoles that may have appeared so far, it is useful to realizes and to have at least the basic knowledge about this industry. Along the years, since their first appearance in 1972, when they were made, did them. Anyhow, if you choose to buy one at this moment to most suitable one for me I believe should be smaller and easy to use. Their prices vary, but as expensive as you buy it, the better it is. Therefore, one should think it carefully in advance and see which the best choice is for his needs.
