Free Computer Chess Games
Battle vs. Chess is a free computer chess game, announced by TopWare Interactive, which will be released for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is based on Fritz engine, developed by Frans Morsch and Mathias Feist together with ChessBase.
Because chess has the same rules of hundreds of years, developers rely on integrating the game in today’s era. Thus, Battle vs. Chess will benefit of 3D animation, the graphics for the pieces will be restyled and the soundtracks will be unique. I know it seems to be a great game but we will have to wait a little longer for it because Battle vs. Chess will be released only in the second half of 2010, most likely in August.

Another interesting free computer game is Virtual Skipper 5 (also known as 32nd America’s Cup) which is a water simulator, developed by Nadeo in collaboration with Focus Home Interactive, exclusively for Pc. Since November 2008, the game is available for free download to all its fans. Virtual Skipper 5 has four game modes for both beginners and advanced. Will be 14 routes on the water around the world and a few examples would be Valencia, Marseille, Malmo, San Francisco, Sydney, Vancouver, etc.
The players who want to try it should know that in the game they will find an editor, which helps them to create their own boats or water routes. Virtual Skipper 5 also has an online mode, with competitions integrated, ranking system and chat.

So, if you liked one game of the Virtual Skipper series (Virtual Skipper, Virtual Skipper 1, Virtual Skipper 2, 3, and 4), you should try this version too because you have 3 reasons to do it: it’s a free game, you can create your own routes and boats, and because you like competitions !!?
