Warhammer: Mark of Chaos

The orcs and the elves have appeared so many times in computer games that launching another game which to have them as protagonists can leave the impression of repeat. Fortunately, Mark of Chaos has enough new characteristics that will banish this suspicion. This strategy game is based on Warhammer Fantasy Battles and it is an impressive creation, although it is the first chapter of a war adventure in the world of fantasy.



Having some splendid real time battles, it is very normal to compare this production with the Total War games, which contain similar epic fights, but using the events and being very inspired by the history, instead of fantasy characters. Like in Total War, these battles are related to each other into a strategically campaign on shifts, offering at least the same as much depth tactics. The single player mode is divided in two campaigns: in the first you can control the human and elves empires, and in the second - the chaos faction built on the power of the orcs and their allies.

Both campaigns are linear, meaning that you move the army on a preset path in order to carry battles after battles. Over time, you have to help a besieged city, to destroy an enemy camp and to go into a one on one battle with the adverse hero. Sometimes the adventure can spread into some optional objectives in order to diversify the action, but generally you will have to follow the traced path on the map. Even so, a cinematic creation made after this game will have a huge success.



Although you do not have too much to choose in terms of the destination of your own army, you are provided with enough options related to its structure. You can recruit different types of units from cities and the settlements through which you pass, and them you can give them weapons, armors and better siege equipment and you can buy flags and musicians in order to keep the morale level high.

From the temples you meet you obtain blessings which grant different bonuses to your troupes. In the moment you reach the battle field, you have the possibility to choose the troops to participate to the battle, because commonly you will have more troupes than unit slots. This means you will have to choose which type of war you will carry: you will go on axes, bows and muskets or you life violent physical contact and you will choose to enter the battle with swords and spears. Besides all that, your troops will obtain bonuses as they accumulate experience in battles, which means that in order to have a strong army, you will have to be careful not to suffer useless losses. After each fight, you can refresh your rows by buying units from the camp, but fortunately you will obtain enough gold after the battle to strengthen your army and to buy improvements of the equipment.



Besides the component units of your army, you will have to control the heroes which are very powerful soldiers who are leading your forces towards victory and which are engaging in duels with enemy commanders. The gathered experience in fights can be invested in the ability to command, in duel skills and physical characteristics, in order to give him strength in battles and to offer bonuses to the troupes who are fighting under their flag. The heroes can be equipped with armors and weapon which remain after a battle, like swords with magical powers, mystical armors or protection rings.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed



When you hear the fanfare, you know what to expect. The same happens when you hear the musical theme of the Star Wars, although this series has not impressed too much in the last few years. With all these, The force Unleashed seams to detach from this period, offering an interesting story in which you will meet many beloved characters, but will not be saving either in the action and surprise chapters.



In this game you will enter under the skin of Galen "Starkiller" Malek, the secret disciple of Darth Vader. The war of the clones is over, and Vader is ordering you to follow and destroy the last few Jedi alive. Exploring the universe from this dark perspective of the Force will prove to be a very interesting one. The adventure, although it's not extending too much, is filled of twists, less or more friendly faces, it is very deep and sometimes even explosive. You will interact even with Vader, but most of the story you will be accompanied by an Android named Proxy and the woman who pilots for him, Juno Eclipse. We can not reveal the details of the adventure of this trio, in order not to steal the pleasure to personally discover, but it is enough to say that you will manage to love Starkiller very much and his comrades also, especially because each of their step brings an extraordinary interior moral conflict.

Still, the main attraction of the game is not Starkiller, but the physical engine of the game, which is behind all the spectacular moves which you will see in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Using the Force Jack, you can grab and then throw any object around you, including enemies if that is what you want. Also the Force can help you push different object from your path, including stubborn people.

Hellboy: Science of Evil

At a given moment in Hellboy: Science of Evil you will have to face a monster which was obtained with the hybridization of a gorilla and an octopus. Then the adrenaline in your body will begin to move around as you clinch your stoned fist in order to fight this evil creature. Only in this moment you will realize how much the fighting games have evolved since this genre was very often found in a real gamer’s collection.



Hellboy has a fight with a witch who is referring to herself using the third-person and you will spend half of your adventure trying to shut her mouth. Then the character will realize that his real enemies are the hordes of mechanized gorillas which try to take him down.

The adventure will prove to be a satisfying and full of humor one, with replies like "I don’t think we're in Kansas, Toto", especially that Ron Perlman has "borrowed" his voice while creating this game.

It is not something out of ordinary in Science of Evil to be surrounded by a pack of hideous enemies, but, with the help of the super human powers of the character and the weapons the can sometimes use, the pack of enemies can be quickly annihilated, and the character can continue his journey until he will meet the next set of enemies.

Of course, the "rule of the fist" is not the only one you will have to follow in this game. Built like a maze sometimes, you will have to use your brains to go through its levels which are thought as a puzzle, and many times you will have to predict which is the next move and what can help you continue the progress.

Ultimate Spider-man



The super heroes games, like the movies these are represented by, are getting better and better. Although, generally, it is better that a game of this genre to be based on comic books rather than movies in which are portrayed their struggling lives. Compare, for example the games X-Men and Incredible Hulk, based on comic books, with the universe from Fantastic Four and Batman which are inspired by the movies. The differences are clear. The Spider-man series took what is best from both comic books and movies, and even if the first two games contained more elements of the movie, it could not been said that they weren't good.



Although, in Ultimate Spider-man they focused on the comic books and the improvement is obvious.

This game, presents Peter Parker when he was younger, around the age of 15, shortly after the spider injected him with the miraculous powers. Shortly, Peters is transforming into the famous super hero, and together with his childhood friend Eddie Brock, is finding the special suit on which their fathers were working. Yes, you guessed, it is the suit which transforms Eddie into Venom, the evil monster which Spider-man must face. The producers have introduced some other familiar faces like the human torch and Wolverine, and villains like Carnage, Electro, Green Goblin and of course, Venom.

Ultimate Spider-man finishes with an open final, like the movie Spiderman 2, allowing you to walk around the city hanging from the webs which your favorite hero provides you with in order to meet some secondary missions along New York. Most are checkpoint races, but you will meet some in which you have to fight, to take out brutal gangs, to save hostages or to capture bank robbers.

Spiderman: Friend or foe



After a boring fight which took place in the first stage of the first level of Spiderman: Friend or foe, poor Spidey has accumulated more game experience than we could. "Do you think that this is ruining all the fun, when we are winning all the time?" is asking rhetorically the animated Webcrawler character while we look bored at the screen. Well, not necessary.

The action / adventure game created by Next Level Games and published by Activision began with a unique idea - Spiderman will fight with a lot of mysterious villains with the help of declared enemies created by Marvel. What seams to be a boring story becomes an extraordinary game experience which in the end shows us that Spiderman becomes in some way, his own enemy.

At the beginning of the game, Spiderman is dragged by Colonel Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D. and is brought to on board of a helicarrier for a fast brief of his mission. Somebody seams to be using some symbiotic fragments from meteorites in order to control the minds of the super villains which in exchange are triggering all kinds of chaos and destruction. It is the job for Spiderman to face them, to make them his allies, and with their help to find the brain behind this operation.

FIFA 2009

Get on the gaming field with the FIFA series, on which the last title brings 250 news and improvements, besides the major modifications brought to the game play core. FIFA 09 is offering you the most authentic simulator of a football game, allowing you to adjust all the settings to fit your style and gaming skills.

FIFA 90 is a real step ahead of all the series' games managing to be far from the lacks we all met when playing its predecessors. The guys from EA Sports made it, in this edition, to improve the last year's version, like it can be seen on the feedback we received from our fans, from commentator and even from pro's in this area.

FIFA Street 2

To this game it has been given more attention than to the previous version. The music is pretty good, one of the DJs which are appearing on the background of the game, admits live that he does not want to be like all the other DJs, so he stops talking and lets you enjoy the music.



FIFA Street 2 is another game from EA Street, which is actually a game based on tricks, arcade type. The game play puts accent on tricks and not on the necessary talent for practicing football and the necessary knowledge of this game.

FIFA Street 2 starts from where it was the last action from the previous version. The base structure of the game is approximately the same. You have the possibility to play a fast game at Play Now, or you can go into the career mode, where you can choose your appearance and skills in Creation Zone, and you can select different options or configure radio stations.

In Game Modes you will find the sub modes Friendly, Rule the Street and Skills Challenge. The Friendly mode will allow you to play against any other player, Rule the Street is in fact the career mode, and Skill Challenge will give you the occasion to prove your talent in juggling with the ball, embarrassing and humiliating the opponents. Warrior Kings: Battles - RTS

Warrior Kings: Battles is continuing the series of Warrior Kings of those from Black Cactus. From the original project, the producer learned more from the mistakes, solving the problems and lacks signaled by the critics. The game is located in the fantasy world named Orbis, which looks pretty much like Europe in the medieval ages. You will face new various opponents, and you will need to conquer 22 new territories in order to finish the game. The similarities with history stops here, each of the three factions having specific units, from fantasy creatures of the Pagans, to the religious fanatics of the Imperials and the ones oriented towards technology of the Renaissance.



The major difference between Battles and other games of this genre consists in the fact that you don't pick from the beginning a faction you can rule. So, depending on the choices you make while going on the technological scale, will determine which units are available for you. For example, building a church at the beginning will take you on the Imperial way. This will stop you from building the equivalent building from the other factions, so that in a certain moment you will find yourself as being a hybrid commander like "Pagan-Renaissance" or "Imperial-Renaissance", and opening the path to other strategically options consisting in the army you will command. One of the strengths of the game is this flexibility and possibility to deviate from the rigidity of a single faction.



Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne - RTS


You can realize if an expansion pack is really great only after you played it and you realize you cannot go back to the original game. After all, the expansion packs not only add new content, but depth and general improvements.

Blizzard Entertainment knows what to offer when it comes to this genre of products, having as examples Starcraft from 1998 and Diablo II in 2000, which were and still are efficient, that many people still play them these days. With the experience of the Blizzard company, it is perfectly normal that their fans to have big expectations for the Warcraft III: Frozen Throne.



Warcraft 3 is a very good game from many points of view: the single player campaigns are offering an interesting and attractive story which is told by four unique points of view; different races which contain numerous and viable features and tactics; the Gameplay which is based on action and training reward and skills. The powerful scenario editor which allows designing your own missions or even creating gameplays by using the 3D graphics engine. Frozen Throne adds and improves all the listed features and more.

In the single player campaigns of Frozen Throne, you will be enchanted to find out that it is offering pretty much the same material as in Warcraft III. The campaigns continue the story which finished in Warcraft III. The missions are offering a remarkable variety from one end to another, and I don't think it is inappropriate to say that these contain the most interesting single player scenarios of all RTS until now.

Frozen Throne adds 3 new environment modes which look even better than the original game, some new units at every race and new abilities for some of the original units, and one of the most important is introducing the 4th hero for each race, things which will be appreciated in the single player mode, where you will experience them. After which you can use in the multiplayer games.

Big Mutha Truckers

The Hick State County from the far south of USA, is the home of the loathsome company Big Mutha Truckers Haulage. Although, this thing is about to change, because the owner Ma Jackson  announced that she intends to retire. The dilemma is who to leave the company to. Ma has four children and choosing a successor has to be done fair. The solution is simply: Ma will organize a truck contest. The one who makes more money buying, selling and transporting loads over the county in 60 days will inherit the company when Ma will retire.

In case you didn't know, the Tony Hawk series is the best skateboarding simulator ever designed - and now, with the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, this aspect is even clear. The skateboarding is now taken more serious, with a lot of kids in wide pants which are referring with seriousness to moves like bluntside or overcrook. Indeed, the list of funny names given to the dangerous stunts has been increased for this game, and now you have the ability of skiching (holding from the back side of a moving car) and to skate in the traffic. Far Cry 2

In the world of Far Cry 2, a world of mercenaries, of gun dealers and paramilitary groups, you will wake up thrown into a stunning network of suspicious clients and alliances without any long term base. In plus, Far Cry 2 brings an even solid multi player mode, and the action filled moments of this game will give you plenty of reasons to hide yourself into the wild African savanna.



The godfather

The godfather is seen as the majority as one of the greatest movies of all times. So when Electronic Arts has announced that they will launch a game based on this model, this business would certainly go well, but it was a risky move the attempt to adapt this beloved story into a game. Luckily, the risk has been removed. The Godfather game is a long and filled of satisfaction adventure and more importantly - it remains faithful to the movie, in the same time following its own story.

The game will put you in the body of a provincial which has not been seen in the movie, but will play a very important role in the game's story. Although the character does not appear in any kind in Mario Puzo's novel or in the movie by Francis Ford Coppola, he manages though to integrate pretty well into the story, which mainly is created after the movie.



When you begin the game, you will be able to configure a Mafia character using the configuration elements like from the EA sports games. You will then begin the game watching your father being shot on the street by rival Mafia. You will pass this moment over a few years until the wedding from the beginning of the movie, where your mother will ask the Don to take you under his protection and to offer you something to work. As we found out from the movie, no Sicilian can deny a request or favor in the day of her daughter's wedding, so the Don will send Luca Brasi to take care of you and teach you how to be a mobster.

Wolfenstein



Wolfenstein is a supernatural / SF shooter based on the series of video games created by ID Software along the time, knowing multiple 2D and 3D reiterations on different platforms, beginning with the 80s. In this new episode, the players will fight against the Nazi obsession for occult forces into a story filled with epic action. The game is filled of cruel enemies, scenes of actions which look taken from movies, impressive weapon diversity and multiplayer gameplay options more than attractive.

Call of Duty 5: World at war

Call of Duty 5 was developed using the graphic engine from Call of Duty 4 by Treyarch. The next game of the Call of Duty franchise and it is named World at War. The game goes back to the World War II, more exactly in the Pacific theater. The launching date was 11th of November 2008 in North America. The players will have the possibility to choose between US Marines troops and Soviet Army, and to fit in a total war, against one of the bloodiest enemies of the World War II.



The game was rated as one of the best action computer game.



It is known that Call of Duty: World at War has a more mature theme than the last editions. A new thing which is introduced is the swimming, which is normal if we think of the Pacific Ocean where the action takes place. In the water, the player will not be able to move so fast as on the ground. Also, in World at War it will be introduced a cooperative gameplay, where two players will be able to play on the same screen.

Caesar Statsny, the lieder of the Treyarch project, has unveiled more details about the game like information about vehicles present in the game: the tanks.

Grand Theft Auto IV



From the moment you land in Liberty City, at the beginning of the GTA IV game, in the body of the illegal emigrant Niko Bellic, you will be able to realize immediately that the new creation of those from Rockstar North is extremely successfully and that the city has changed very much since 2001. Yes it is the new game of the GTA series, meaning that you will probably think that you will spend your most of the time stealing cars, killing cops or bad guys, but GTA IV means more than that. It is a wide story game, in which the main character will attract you immediately in single player, a game which is proud of itself for the abundance of characteristics of the multiplayer online mode. It's with no doubts the greatest from the GTA series.

What makes the difference between GTA IV and the last GTA games is the city, bringing us into a more alive urban environment than any other game, looking very much alike the GTA III version from 2001. The diversified population of the Liberty City seams to see about their daily routines without knowing that the local crime organizations are fighting for their territorial disputes. Niko can't take them as an example. He is forced to work even from the beginning for one of the criminal factions, when he finds out that his cousin Roman, has gathered enough debts in gambling and he is in danger. The military experience of Niko is in his advantage of being a mercenary, and even if apparently he is not ok with the objectives he needs to follow, he is taking them to their end hoping that in this way he will take to the end his personal mission. In fact Niko doesn't have to do all he is asked to, in some moments of the story you are able to choose depending on what you think is right to do, following blindly the instructions. For example it is not necessary to kill a target if he promises he will leave town, but you must weight on the other side that it is possible the employer finds out and the person you didn't kill will be helpful later.

Based on the new movie launched on the DVD, Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses is exposing the story of Barbie in the role of the beautiful Genevieve, one of the 12 sisters who lived happy with their father, the king. The king, worried because of their independent spirits, decides that the girls need a special organizing in order to become real princesses, and for that he invites his cousin, the duchess Rowena, to move in their castle. Rather than helping them, Rowena forbids them to sing and dance, and so she destroys their individuality. The princesses are discovering an enchanting magic world and so they get rid of Rowena's tyranny. At some time, Genevieve finds out that their father's life is in danger, and the sisters are reuniting to save the king and his kingdom.

Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus



Barbie has played all the imaginable roles until now, but VU Games through Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus is bringing together for the first time, the legendary flying horse Pegasus and the beautiful princess Barbie. This PC game is challenging the Barbie fans with some action oriented levels and with beautiful puzzles. Barbie is playing the role of Princess Annika. The princess’s kingdom was living in peace until the bad wizard Wenlock arrived and transformed everyone into statues. Only Annika, her friendly bear Shiver and the flying horse Brietta, have escaped the spell.

F.E.A.R. - First Encounter Assault Recon

At a first sight, the story can seem too dusty. Paxton Fettel, a commander who can telepathically control the clone soldiers, and starts killing all he can see. The player is part of the F.E.A.R., a special division from the American army specially created to solve these kinds of paranormal incidents, and the main mission is to eliminate Paxton Fettel, without his control, the Replica soldiers no longer present a threat. After you will walk about a quarter from the game, you will see that Paxton Fettel's objectives are not as clear as they seemed at the beginning. Some questions remain unanswered and the end of the game is a cliché. The story from F.E.A.R. is more than well rennet. I might admit as well, that the minor role of the other team members in the game going is disappointing. The feeling of you against all is present here also. No one is saying that they should have transformed the game into a squad based shooter, but more personality for the secondary characters wouldn't kill anyone.



While the fights, which have a ferocious intensity, probably you would not have time to think at these kinds of existential problems. When talking about action, Monolith made very well their homework: the weapons really sound like weapons and the projectile impact feeling is very well played. The shotgun probably will be the weapon you will use the most, along with the assault rifle and the particle weapon. For John Woo fans there are two pistols you can use in the same time, where you add a rocket launcher, some grenades, a sniper rifle, an MP5 and a nail gun you can use to target enemies through walls in a very artistic way.



You can use a series of melee hits in order to quietly kill. Adding the possibility to use the slow motion (Max Payne, Enter the Matrix), in short doses, we obtain the perfect recipe for some action scenes at least spectacular. If you aim carefully, you can slash the head, leg, or hands, while a grenade will spread the unfortunate's remains all over the walls.



Not even the surrounding environment will not escape after a serious fight, the sensation of chaos and destruction is also present: holes in walls, chairs, tables or computers, destroyed boxes, broken windows shattered in thousands of shivers, on which you add the dust or other particles which rise in the air in the moment the hell is unleashed.



As a bonus, some background elements, as fire extinguishers or gas cylinders can be used as beautiful fireworks which will fry any enemy around (even you if you are not careful).



Remarkable is the fact that you cannot carry more than three weapons along, which will force you in some situations to take some tactical decisions, which will prove to be inspired or which will send you straight to the hospital. And talking about that, the frustrations caused by the necessity of repeating a specific part from a level are nonexistent, F.E.A.R. is using checkpoints, quick saves and classic game saves in order to reintroduce you in the game work as close as possible to the point where you left it. Also, you won't miss the health kits and armor, even if in the first levels, limited quantities of ammo could be a problem.
